Yes - that is right. It is going to cost you nothing - nada, nil, nilch. All you have to do is to bring your laptop to our office and leave it with us and have Ubuntu installed on it.

HCL Infosystems has launched laptops at a very affordable price in the market. Named as MiLeap, these are very compact, and lightweight machines and are available at the price of a basic computer. The company had launched these laptops on 15th January, 2008. These are targeted towards the lowest segment of the market.

Another model of laptop in HP-Compaq's Presario V3000 series product line is Presario V3172AU. The manufacturer has stopped shipping driver CDs along with the box. In their website, you can find all drivers of the same laptop for Windows Vista. They do not provide drivers for Windows XP. You will not be able to install XP without proper drivers. Here are the list of drivers of Presario V3172AU laptop. We strongly recommend that you get a legal and licensed copy of Windows if you are planning to install it.

You need to install an operating system in to the machine so as to use it. If you are installing Windows, we recommend that you obtain legal and licenced version of the same (Windows XP or Vista) and install it. You can also try installing Linux, which is another operating system that is available free of cost.

HP Compaq has a model of laptop - Presario C751NR. This is a US based model. Drivers for Windows XP is not available in their site, if ever you think of installing XP. This model of laptop is specifically designed for Windows Vista. The drivers are not tested for Windows XP. Neither Zyxware nor HP assures any guarantee that the drivers will work perfectly in XP. HCL has introduced a new series of Ultra Portable Laptop - HCL MiLeap. This is a major step that HCL has taken towards bringing technology to common man in India. These are highly compact, weightless and fully functional laptops that can provide us mobility and wireless experience at an affordable price. These were launched on 15th January, 2008. They will be released on 26th January, as a gift to the nation during Republic Day of India. These laptops will be available for sale in Zyxware from February onwards. The prices are given below.

Toshiba announced prices of various models of its Notebook Computers for the month of January. Some models carry 1 year International warranty and 2 years warranty in India, while other carry a total International warranty of 3 years. All these models are pre-installed with Windows Vista Business Edition except the Tablet PC model which has Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. Most webmasters do not realize this, but a lot of the content on lot of websites can be accessed from multiple URLs. A simple example would be where www.example.com and example.com leads to the same page. This is a fatal mistake in Search Engine Optimization and search engines penalize you for duplicate content. The correct configuration would be where the above two urls will lead you to the same page but example.com will redirect you to www.example.com with a 301 (Moved permanently) status which will not result in search engines penalizing the page. It is very easy to configure 301 redirects using Apache .htaccess file and the process is the same for a Drupal installation also.

HP-Compaq has a model of laptop - Presario C748TU. This model is specifically designed for Windows Vista. They do not provide drivers for Windows XP along with the package. You will have to download and install it seperately. However, if you try to install driver for Windows XP, you might face compatibility issues. You can try the given links for drivers for the same.

HP-Compaq has a model of laptop - Presario C716TU. This is a pretty good model of laptop which is based on Dual Core Processor. It is equipped with an Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor 1.46 GHz, 512 MB DDR2 RAM, 160GB SATA Hard Drive, 8X Dual Layer DVD writer, 15.4" Widescreen display, Modem, Integrated Wi-Fi, and it comes pre-installed with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic Edition.
